AHA'S YOU'RE THE CURE ADVOCACY WEBSITE
I am exploring ways to channel things that are important to
me so am giving this blog thing a try.
As a survivor of CARDIAC ARREST, I have a new appreciation for all things
cardiac care related. CPR is a must and I think everyone should become CPR
certified or at the very least participate in a Hands Only CPR training event.
A few months ago I was asked to be a member of the
American Heart Association's California/ Nevada Emergency Cardiovascular Care
(ECC) Committee. Each committee member has agreed to recruit at least
5 people each quarter to join the American Heart Association “You’re the Cure”
advocacy website. Will you help me exceed my goal by registering?? If you do,
please let me know so I can track it. You can simply put in the comments
section "REGISTERED".
What is “You’re the Cure”? It is an AHA website that gives you the
tools to play a crucial role in the fight against heart disease and stroke.
You’ll be able to communicate with key legislators, connect with advocates near
you, and stay up-to-date on the heart and stroke issues that matter most. You
are encouraged to go monthly to this site and check out what is happening.
Go to the You’re the Cure website http://www.yourethecure.org/ and Sign Up by clicking
in the upper right hand corner. Complete the Join Us application and click
SIGNUP button at the bottom of the page. Thank you for your support.
From there you will find all kinds up super cool stuff - - The Action
Center is pretty awesome. You enter your zip code and it brings up Actions that
you can take that allow you to voice your opinion, contact your representative,
etc, about important issues. And they've made it very easy by having the
letters pre-written, simply waiting for your name to be added it. SUPER EASY!
